The Michigan State Fair floundered and gave up. The various county fairs are usually good ours especially but we're in a very agricultural based county. Lots of entries in all sorts of categories not just livestock. Just about every kid gets at least market prices. The auctioneers and those...
My beautiful and brilliant wife deserves all the credit for educating me on this technique. It works great though. Oil gets cooked off and imparts a lot of flavor on the veggies.
Another trick I use is to pour some olive oil into a small bowl then add my seasonings and let them soak for a while.
Then I brush said veggies with my flavored oil and cook. This is my go to for most of my grilled veggies especially asparagus and sliced zucchini/yellow squash.
Yes sorry wasn't more clear on that. I sprinkle it in when I plant. We've got clay soil here do you have to break it up and mix it or all you'll have are chunks which doesn't help when you plant.
Far as black spot goes I would think it makes the plant heartier and better able to defend itself...
I always carry one. Same thing Grandpa gave me my first one was an old Buck knife and it's safely tucked away. That and the big buck sheath knife my wife gave me with my initials engraved in the handle are the 2 I care about most.
Last few years I've been carrying a 3-ish inch blade that...

Umm what does the inverted e mean?
Far as throw backs it's bleeding hearts for me too. My parents had them and we had many army guy battles and were forever pulling balls out from under the plants.

My problem is I can rattle off a bunch a bunch of tomato varieties, or roses fir example but there's a lot of other plants I have no idea how to use effectively in a landscape.
@thistlebloom I know you're paying attention I'm using an Ipad so I've got a touch screen so it's posted for me before I was done. Problem is you're so efficient that I see your reply when edit my message to fix/finish my message :D
The bed that I outlined and partially tilled yes. Sorry I wasn't more clear on that. That's what I need suggestions for. The new bed I edged and the old bed I rototilled. I am going to rototill the new bed as well but it was dinner time.
Yes it's a weeping cherry.
There are 2 pines...
It's actually about 10ft from the corner of the house. It's the angles of the pictures. There isn't much for perspective. I based that on mature spread so it wasn't growing into the house. It's a pretty young weeping cherry.
So finally have taken the steps to improve things here. Ripped out the front row of retaining wall blocks since they were not doing anything but make it difficult to mow. Seriously 1 row of blocks won't do anything. Blocks crumbled so recycled them into the gravel driveway.
Also tore out the...
