What are You Eating from the Garden?

Our stored foods from last seasons garden are running critically low right now. We are down to a couple bags of green beans, two quarts of maters and maybe a couple frozen bags, I gallon bag of shredded zucchini, and a couple of winter squash. We will be completely out by the end of the month...

How to heat a green small greenhouse.

We have a 8’x16’ poly carbonate greenhouse that we have been trying to figure out how to efficiently heat a couple months per year. We really have not found anything that heats without running all the time and costing a small fortune. We usually put plastic over the plants at night and run a...

There are some useful tips in it for sure. I think I will try the dish soap idea for regulating the moisture. Thanks for posting.

    Another scam

You have to be vigilant about strange numbers there are some scams only requiring you to answer for them to access the information on your phone. I play lots of phone tag with the drs office and other large agencies that have multiple phone numbers and 100s of extensions that you don’t know...

    Another scam

We only have cell phones no land line. I have a large contact list in my phone if the phone rings with an unknown number I do not answer it period. If it is important they will leave a message and I will call right back. With all the scams going on these days answering an unknown call is risky...

Earthquake front or rear tine tiller?

My brother purchased a 30hp kyoti last spring and loves it. It’s 4x4 and has lots more power than his old 2n. Not sure what he paid for it but said it was a good price. I would love a sub compact tractor also, it would sure make a lot of jobs around here much faster and enjoyable. But for now...

Earthquake front or rear tine tiller?

@thistlebloom, I really like those metal buildings they have so many uses. I have been slowly trying to persuade Angie into getting one for raising sheep or goats . It could hold all the feed and supplies and an under cover area for animals. Did it get anchored down or are the heavy enough to...

Earthquake front or rear tine tiller?

We have a cub cadet we purchased before we moved here, and I am not kidding when I say it has saved me hours and hours of labor already. When we broke ground on our main garden I set the depth at about 3” inches to bust up the sod and rake off. Next I set it for full depth and it tilled virgin...

    2021 Seed Orders

https://seedsnsuch.com/https://seedsnsuch.com/ I took a chance and ordered seed from this place this year. I have never ordered from them before so this will be an experiment. They have a pretty good selection of vegetable and flower seed with decent descriptions of growing tip and dtm. I have...

What do u spend on garden plants and seeds?

I would not even try to make a guess on how much we spend per year on seeds. I have made my second seed order of the season and have spent $110 between the two, plus DW is more of a pick up seeds here and there all year long so that adds up also. Last year we put in 4 grapes, 7 fruit trees, 4...

Wow Carol 13 and squirrel hunting, time sure flys by. The squirrels we have in our neck of the woods aren’t near that big.

What are You Eating from the Garden?

At my grandmothers house they poured a 8’x25’ covered patio. On one end they framed up an 5’x8’ section with if I remember correctly 2”x8” lumber and R30 insulation. Even during hot summers it stayed nice and cool in there and never froze in winter.

Our family started watching a Christmas story the year our first daughter was born in 94. And started watching its a wonderful life in 96 when our second daughter arrived. It is not Christmas season without seeing these classic movies.
