I planted my twigs this year too.. and they are growing .. each and every one.. 2 peach and 3 apple.. I also bought a fig.. I have planted mine about the same distance apart that you have.. I am so glad I am not the only one that did that.. except.. I dont really know if they are dwarf...

I dont have the space to spread 20 feet apart.. so I have a row then about 6 feet I have another row.. but I planted a bunch of okra inbetween.. it will all be good.. I will just save the hot seeds ... then the only drawback is that they wont have as much heat.. no biggie..

Not to hijack.. But we have looked all over town for started egg plant and it is no where ... so I had to get the seeds.. Now we are about 2 weeks past our frost date.. But on the package it says you plant feb-mar.. we are at the end of march .. BUT we are still ahead of lots of folks...
