AH! Stakes...noooo!!! :th
Good ole Steve. How ya doing? :D
Well that is quite the stake maze you have going on there...but I'm sure the results will be worth all the effort. Dahlias are beautiful flowers and always a hit.
I guess I don't hate the stakes themselves....just all the effort...
Good to be back...just had a very busy spring! :)
Yeah...that pink yarrow....I dunno if there will be much hope. :/ Mine ALWAYS flopped every year once the flower heads started opening up. The stems just weren't strong enough to hold the flowers up. I guess it flopped the least when we...

Hey Schultz! I dunno about you guys in Indy, but up here by the IN/MI border things are growing well with all the rain and heat. We've had so many storms tho...some of my corn is leaning over a bit from the latest winds....
I've had the pink-flowering yarrow before, and it always flopped over when it started blooming. It spread like crazy too...so we just replaced it with nicer looking stuff instead. :D
I dunno if it would work with the yarrow, but with the lavender you could try pruning it as it grows to promote...
HiDelight, sorry to hear about the tendonitis....:/
I have a question....after you've cooked and prepared the pot of beans w/ epazote, does it still have a strong flavor? I like the fact that it can prevent gas, but I dunno if the fam would be too wild about a strong/strange flavor....
Thanks for sharing! It's nice to see green and colors other than white....:P
Enjoy those plants of yours...up here we're supposed to be getting a lot more snow tomorrow...:/
I think I saw some of y'all talking about epazote on here somewhere....so I went ahead and ordered some seed for this season! :D
So yeah...I guess I'm interested in what everyone has to say about it too!
:pop
Hey snewman,
I think using blueberries in the landscaping would be a great idea. They really have year-round interest - spring flowers, summer fruit, bright red fall color, and red stems for winter color.
I don't have any experience with the dwarf blueberries...:idunno I'm assuming they are...
a bit of a wang aftertaste...:gig......I agree!
Although.... sometimes I would come across some that were perfectly golden ripe, with no aftertaste...and I thought they kinda tasted like gummi bears! :drool
jojo54 - I like raw kohlrabi too! Tried some from the farmer's market and I'm hooked now...it's good to hear that it's not hard to grow. I want to try some in containers.
wifezilla - My ground cherries did great this past year. I was working in a greenhouse last spring and my employer let me...
I love trying new stuff each year!
Last year's new thing was Ground Cherries....
This coming year I want to grow Kohlrabi (tried it for the 1st time this past summer and....yum! :drool ) and some different varieties of Alpine strawberries.
As far as flowers go, I want to try Cerinthe this year.
I must confess...I'm a tomato-pruner! :hide Well...sort of....
We always do a single cherry tomato on our deck each year. I prune any side branches that start growing too far outward (and outside of the tomato cage). That way the plant can focus on growing upward, and it keeps things a little...
