Thanks Hoodat and WZ. :)
I'll check Whole Foods, if and when I ever get there. I think it's about an hour and a half away and as far as I've been able to find I think that's it.
I'm so glad to have several possible sources so I hope something works out. :)
Thanks again!
Oh, if you would possibly have any others, I would live to get some too? These were near the top of my list of plants to try, and I haven't been able to find them.
Thanks, and have a great evening. :)
Thanks much, Wifezilla. :)
That's what I'll do then, just let folks choose two. :)
Unfortunately, I don't need basil or cress and I think castor is toxic to goats, so I guess I'll have to wait.
I appreciate the reply. :)
Awwww ... I finally got some seeds to swap. I've been so wishing to join the train. Now I'm not sure what's going on?
Anyways ... In preparation for when I can participate :) how do you know how much to offer? I have only a few extras of some, more of others, but I don't want to limit the...
LOL I laughed when I read that. :)
Interesting idea. I have an aerobic septic system with a lid on the riser. I COULD dump it down there, but I have no idea if that's wise.
I might eventually develop something but right now I have one (admittedly VERY BIG) dog and 2 cats, so I just bury it in...
You're very welcome. :)
I'm in the same situation ... Gotta get out there and make a few more cages QUICK and then repair all the others. And list a few extra breeders on Craigslist. Amazing how quickly you can be swimming in bunnies. ;)
Glad you found what you needed. :)
My summer cages are all wire. I read advice somewhere to build them several inches taller than you want so when the lower part becomes damaged you just clip it off and replace that only.
I'm glad I did. Due to popped welds I'm going to cut down the cages and replace the floors and several...
I got mine at Lowes. Sure wish I could find it cheaper though. I need several SEVERAL rolls.
Hope you find what you're looking for. I don't have any trouble with the poo not falling through the smaller wire. What I DO have trouble with is bucks popping the welds just for fun.
I keep mine on the counter. If I MUST wash one, I just use it right away, but I pretty much never wash them after collecting. If I think it needs it, I will wash before cracking, but even that is rare.
As far as timing ... I never sell or give away an egg that is more than a couple of days...
THAT would make a lot more legal sense that suing the farmer who ended up with intrusive genetics he might not even want. If he is an organic farmer, then his own crop just got ruined. He should be able to sue the GMO producer who failed to contain it.
If I remember right, there is a variety with smaller leaves, kinda variegated, that grows well in sun. It flowered well for me, and the smell was almost as sweet.
My last house in Florida had a couple of large gardenia bushes out front. That first spring, I kept the windows open and let a cool...
I have one in the little nursery pot right now.
Since it's wintertime, I don't intend to repot it until spring as long as I can keep it healthy. I usually use the foil paper, or a deep saucer, and water it well, letting it sit in the water long enough to soak it up if the soil is poorer. Maybe...
I have heard that too -- about the growth retardant. I thought about it and I seem to remember as a kid, if you didn't eat potatoes in the pantry pretty quick, you got loonngg sprouts before too much time passed. These days, I sometimes "stock up" when they are on sale, and I've had a few I...
Costco here got in some NICE fruit trees ONCE in late spring. I got some peach trees for $12 each that were costing from $24 to &28 everywhere else for that size. I'd like to have gotten them even cheaper, but I don't think I could have gotten such healthy trees that already bore this year for...
Several years ago I bought this lovely little pink cyclamen. I probably paid about $2 and I probably got it at Home Depot or Lowes. It bloomed in my kitchen window for months. After a short dormant period when I thought maybe it had died, leaves grew back out and it started blooming again. It...
Ah, thank you so much everyone!
Hopefully I will have enough tomatoes with 20 or so big bushes of those types to experiment and try all those things then. I've got some catch up reading to do here, but now I have a good starting place.
I would LOVE to get some sauce too, so I'll try that...
Thanks, Hoodat!
I'm more interested in TASTE so I'll go with canned. My freezer is half full of frozen bottles for rabbits anyway but I have plenty of pantry space. :)
I'll probably have questions when it comes to that. I finally have a pressure cooker and I thought I could use it for canning...
Oh, THANK YOU for that information! I'm going to SO love it if I can have tomatoes even in winter. It kills me to buy storebought tomatoes with all the flavor of styrofoam, and half the time they ate $3 or $4 a pound in winter.
I think I have 4 or 5 Better Boys out there, so I'll try to use...
