I have excellent luck with the SureShot foam. It goes where I want and nowhere else.
Personally, I think they're pretty plants, but I have ZERO tolerance for them in my yard. Literally, I have scars on my hands from the stings.

We have an unlimited supply of free pine straw (only requires a rake) so I LOVE it. :D
Seriously though, the more vigorous weeds still get through. The rest of the areas that still need mulching will have cardboard placed underneath the pine straw.

It seems that it might be something called "Oldfield toadflax." I don't think I have ever heard these words mentioned but it seems like our mystery weed for sure.
