    Brugs, Berries and Trees

You fertilize them every day?!?!? Wow. Maybe I should rethink this. lol Although, the sanguinea ones are REALLY eye-catching. The ones I've seen around here are pink and yellow. I don't know if they dig them up each year or they just die back and resprout. They definitely aren't there...

    Brugs, Berries and Trees

So the conditions in which I grow an Angel Trumpet tree (is it considered a tree?) will affect the coloring?

    Brugs, Berries and Trees

brugs = brugmansias? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brugmansia I've seen these growing in a nearby yard and I, too, find them to be just gorgeous. I'm trying to be patient and find the PERFECT one to go in my own yard. NOID = No ID? (ie, you don't know what it is?)

tall stalk with light purple flower weed (or wildflower)

We have TONS of those (when a field of them blooms, it's so pretty!) but I have no idea what they are, so I'll be watching this thread too. Here's another picture of said "weed" from my files. This is one of my favorite photos. :)

    Planting Raspberries, Blackberries, and Blueberries

Greetings!!! I planted blackberry, raspberry and blueberry bushes this winter and I've got baby blueberries on my bushes and a baby raspberry on my "Fall Gold" raspberry cane. Nothing yet on the blackberries, but I don't think the wild ones are blooming yet, so it's probably not time. I was...

    Are potato plants frost hardy?

The tomatoes are covered. The basil is covered. The beans are covered. The peppers are covered. Do I need one more for the potatoes? Internet wisdom is confusing. I need a simple answer.

New Gardener- HELP - re: Seed Starting

I don't think there's such a thing as "too late" in Georgia. :) Going to read the rest of your post now. Okay - a disclaimer first - I am not an expert, I don't play one on TV and I have NEVER stayed in a Holiday Inn Express so the following advice may be about as good as the keyboard ink it...

How do you anchor your tomato cages?

Would several bamboo stakes work? That's pretty plentiful around here if you look around and ask.

    My poor tomatoes. :(

I transplanted them outside a couple of weeks ago, when the weather forecast called for nearly a week of rain. Great transplanting weather (I thought.) However, what we got the first two days was flooding thunderstorms - complete with hail. I managed to baby most of them back to life and they...

    Need an opinion....

Ditto this. Seeing your daughter's face light up with joy when that first flower blooms will be as much of a gift as the gift itself.

Tell me about hilling potatoes, please

Thanks all! I guess I'll be mulching my potatoes this weekend. :)

Tell me about hilling potatoes, please

Okay, so if mulch will work here - what exactly am I doing? Is hilling a way of "tricking" the plant into thinking that more of it is underground than really is? If mulch works, is darkness the key? Moisture isn't as important? I guess since the tubers aren't actually roots they don't...
