The tomatoes are covered. The basil is covered. The beans are covered. The peppers are covered.

Do I need one more for the potatoes? Internet wisdom is confusing.

I need a simple answer.

If it will freeze, the potatoes are well up, and if I've got something to cover them with - I would.

If they have barely emerged from the soil, I don't think you need to bother. They are more protected and, besides, they will come back.

Now having said all that - I have never covered potatoes and have had them blackened by frost a few times.

AmyRey, you are reading my mind ;)...I have 4 tater plants up, & noticed some have dark brown (kinda scorched-looking) leaves, & wondered if the frost got 'em...their container is right next to the lettuce bed, so they got partially covered by a sheet the last time it got cold...:/

Well, we did get a really light frost this morning, but everything was covered so all is well. :)

Thanks again, Steve!
