Wifezilla, I sent my address.
How did you plant it, and what type of "sun" does it need? I'm excited to try it- but since the snow is just finally melting off the garden, I need to figure out which space to devote to it- and put some plastic on the ground for a bit to warm the soil til it's...
I was hoping that stinging nettle was the horrible prickly weed that's in my back garden, but the photos look nothing like it at all. This will grow tall, but it starts flat, with almost velvety leaves, then grows very large thorns. It's horrid, and I'd like to get rid of it , but it usually...
We still doing this? I've got a few more to offer:

I have to offer :
Purple Hot Pepper
French Climbing Bean
Okra, Clemson Spineless (2)
Carrot, Little Finger
Carrot, Danvers Half
Spinach, Bloomsdale Long

There's no "tricking" involved-- your potatoes are growing above the seed potato-- upwards towards the sky. Without something above them (soil, mulch, compost) they're unable to fully grow the number of potatoes they would, if you did hill them up. The new spuds need to be in the soil in order...
You didn't really stall it-- I did, since I was trying to figure out what I had to offer!!!
May I have the Quioa?
I can offer (again) French Climbing beans
Purple hot pepper (tiny hot peppers that grow on a small plant, go from green to purple to red- gorgeous...
Well, I guess I'm going to have to experiment perhaps... I'll get it cut and cooked this weekend, and dry most of them. I'll plant a few in seedling containers and see what happens- for future reference :)
I've got a hubbard squash left from last year that I want to cook and freeze soon- I'm wondering-do I need to dry out the seeds before planting, or will a "fresh" seed grow? I'll ultimately have seeds to dry and save, but curious if fresh, wet seeds grow, or do they need to be dormant/dry...
I've not grown it either, and if I have any growing wild- I'd never know it to see it-- but I am also interested in it because of it's cold-hardiness. Can't wait to hear feedback to your post.
May I have Organic Mammoth Sunflower?
I have to offer:
Climbing French Green Bean
will have more after I sort my seeds... I should have gotten online sooner :)
The problem could be that the seeds you've started tend to do better when direct seeded, if you can. Here in Maine, we do start our cole crops early, in trays, and they do get leggy before we set them out. They're also cooler weather crops, and you're in a warm area- so I don't have...
Yes, it will dissolve-- but the volume changes if you're measuring in teaspoons/ Tablespoons. The idea to grind it is great as far as making it smaller, to measure better!
Pickling salt is usually available at WalMart or other mass market retailers in their seasonal aisle, or at hardware stores in the same aisle. It isn't in the baking aisle ( not sure where you've looked).
I read in a pickle recipe just yesterday that Kosher isn't always interchangeable, as the...
Dry them ( string and hang or dehydrate), pickle or pressure can them, use them in your salsas or pickle recipes. Or give them to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Super ideas.
I've made a few salads to take to work, hubby has brought a bunch to work to share ( as have I) I'm down to 1 box and will probably pickle most this weekend.
At the moment, I have no place cool to store them. We've got a few cabinets which are dark enough, but we have no...
Great ideas-- keep 'em coming...
Though.. not sure I can drink cucumber juice--- I'm willing to give it a go though..... Do I just blend it and strain it? I don't have a juicer.
Great answers here. Definitely add as much organic matter as you can. Dig it in deep. Water deep, and not often, as suggested. Even though we're in a cooler climate in Northern Maine, and the summer has been hot, that's what I do.
I see friends and neighbors out there every day...
