I apologize to those of you at Sufficient Self-- I've cross posted here ( forgot this forum was here!) I'm looking for a pattern to make seedling pots out of newspaper. I dont' want to buy the "pot maker" you see in catalogs-- I can't justify the cost. Anyone with a pattern or instructions...

Where did you get your bamboo? I'd love to have some for teepees, but have no idea where to find it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I can't find anything close by-- we are pretty remote, and Aroostook County Maine is know for potatoes and broccoli, not garlic, unfortunately! Farmer's markets are gone for the season. Nothing in the winter that I can find (my first winter here)- everyone's out...

I'd love to cut them back now and weed out the bed, but some references are unclear about when it's "ok" to do this. We've had some heavy frosts and the plants are brown now, no longer green. Will I hurt them if I cut them down now? I know it got quite weedy this year and I'd like to clean...

I would think you could dig out some plants whole and just replant them. I know this is done with raspberries and blackberries in my area.

So far, the only recycling in the garden has been using old wire fencing as a trellis... mind you, we just moved here in March. As far as the "yard"-- our chicken run is entirely made of posts and fencing found here on the property, as is the brooder on our sunporch that's currently housing...

Oh, I really wish there was a Lowe's or Home Depot within a reasonable distance from me!! Our Lowe's is over 60 miles from here, and not a routine trip! Walmart is closer (25 miles) but has way less variety, and I try to stay away from there if I can.
