I got tired of not knowing what did good and when. In Florida and maybe Ga a bit the books don't realy help except for companion and rotating and such. But I have to adjust my growing patern to work for my area. Like Sept. is a great time for all my cool veggies. I keep a rough diagram of my...
Hi from Orlando!! Just remember most of the books are oppisite from Florida growing. Unless it's a florida book lol. I love the fall planting. And if you have kids plant lots of sugar snap peas in containers where the kids play for a quick fun snack! I put my seeds in about Sept. October. Then...
I was looking for a bunch of cheap buckets that had no bad Chemicals in it. So my friend told me they sell them at the sub shop for $2.00. And they are red. How cool? So I have 10 and I have roma tomato plants and cukes in them so far. Behind them on the fence is 4 by 4 wire that I had DH run...
Those would be good for keeping cutworms and such out!! Good Job on everything! I had such a bad crop of tomato last year that I went and got 5 gallon buckets from Firehouse Subs for $2. They are from the pickles they use. They are red too. I just put a drip in each of them today. The only one...
Do those vine type plants cross pollinate? I read somewhere about a cuke and something polinating and getting a yucky fruit? I could be wrong though. Good luck. I will research and come back if I find it. But if the book says okay then go for it!

We have a 8" and 16" raised bed. The 16" was filled with straw and compost and didn't even reach 8" but I plan on just filling it with compost as much as possible. I just put the 6" to rest due to no sun on that side of house this time of year and play in the other till spring. The 16" raised...
I agree we had a pool party and I had a potted 100 cherry that was doing really good. Then about a week later plopped on me. Looked like a blight or tabacco mosaic. Then the ones by the pool pump where hubby smokes had same thing. I just went out today<florida> and found a new tomato on a plant...
