I think the yellow squash will work wonderfully. I made this again last night and served with pre-cooked sliced chicken breast, and in about 20 minutes, we were ready to eat.
I have been bitten several times by small wasps while I am out and about in my garden or working with my chickens. About 24 hours after the bite, quite a large area around the bite area will swell, redden, feel very hot and itch like crazy. This can go on for more than a week.
What do you use...
I have two 3" binders for receipes that I have torn out of magazines, printed off the internet or photocopied from cookbooks. I used to have these arranged by salads, vegetable dishes, main course, desserts, etc. I always found it difficult (and time consuming) to locate receipes that matched...
Hi garlic lovers,
I just bought some garlic at my feed store to plant. This will be my first garlic as I have never grown before. They told me to separate the cloves, plant them about 2 inches in the soil, about 4 inches apart, cover with dirt and water.
Is this your recommendation too?

I recently was given the following receipe for tomatos, zuchinni and basil and I have been making it daily for about a week now. I can't believe how wonderful it is and what a great use for the last of my garden tomatos and zuchinni and basil. As always, the more you grow, the better this is...
Wanted to check in and thank everyone for their suggestions for freezing corn. I did as suggested and last night used one of the pgks I had frozen. The corn was delicious. Thanks again.

I love butternut squash soup. Here is a great receipe and very easy. As always, the more ingredients you grow the most delicious. The secret ingredient is the curry and the rice. Enjoy.
2-3 T olive oil
1 med/lg butternut squash (peeled and cubed)
1 large onion chopped
6 C vegetable stock or...
Carol,
I looked this up and it is a beautiful sunflower. I think I will order some as it looks like it will be a good choice to cut and bring indoors. Thanks for the tip.

I particularily liked all my tomatoes, several heirloom varieties that were new for me. I had a very abundant crop and am still harvesting.
I loved planting...and eating my potatos, again first time I have ever grown them. What a fun venture.
I had great success with corn and a huge and...
Several things I would do differently next year.
I will not plant painted corn in with the regular corn. I will also stagger the corn plantings.
Add lots of soil amendments to my squash and cucumber area and stagger the plantings. They did not do as well as I had hoped.

Well, I have discovered something that I want to pass along. I bought a pair of rough shower gloves/mitts, (the kind that you can use to slough off dead skin while you are in the shower with a gel or soap) I bought them at a Bed and Bath outlet, but I believe I have seen them in Walmart and...
