Thank you....My tall Sedums are Autumn Joy. I too let the low growers alone....no work there. Today is nice out, don't think we'll be getting very more so it's outside I go to cut. Does make sense to do the clean now. Thanks again.
So sorry to read what happened. I recently was reading a thread on BYC and they were talking about the pros & cons of those blinking predator lights. I've been fortunate and haven't lost any of my flock but have been seriously thinking about some. I know we have fox, coyote, minks, hawks, & who...
I have several Sedum plants through my landscaping. I was wondering which is best to do 1. Cut them back now for the winter? 2. Leave them & cut them in the early spring? I know I've done both in the past and they've always survived the harsh winters we have but was just wondering which is best...
OK....I don't like radishes but my DH does. We plant them every year. I never use them for anything because I don't like them but he eats them like crazy when in season. I have never had them sauteed, everything dish I've seen them in were always raw. Slicing them very thin and sauteing them in...
My to do list consists of making sure all my fall/winter prep is complete. Need to have the neighbor till up the garden yet. If if doesn't get done soon it'll have to wait till spring.
I knit & crochet. Im not very skilled at it but have been doing so since I was little. I usually make my children scarves, headbands, turtle huggers, dish rags & hand towels...the ones that you hang on the drawer knob or on the stove. I have also made a handful of throws for nephews and my kids...
Just got off the phone with my mother and she told me the very same thing!! If I buy it from the farmers market that is how they always store/display it for sale. Duhhhh....I sure wasn't thinking!! Thanks for the reply!
I threw out my husbands heirloom tomato seeds one year when cleaning. He stored some on a plate & stuck it up in my soffit to dry. Why there, don't ask cause I haven't got the foggiest. Anyway while I was doing some thorough cleaning I came upon them and not thinking tossed them into the trash...
What is the best way to store cilantro? I miss my fresh....just walk out my back door and snip. It seems that every time I purchase fresh cilantro from the grocery store it gets moldy and yucky real quick and I end up throwing half of it away. Anyone have any tips on how to store it so it will...
We don't have our garden fenced in. We want to see deer but of course don't want them in the garden so my husband planted a large section of our property with alfalfa. The deer just hang out there. The fences I've seen around are usually about 5 ft. tall.
From spending most of my childhood on my grandparents farm. My parents helped out on the farm so of course whenever they went we went which was ALL THE TIME. When I was too small to help in the garden or fields I'd stay at the house with my grandmother. Grandma would always have me help her weed...
