I got a strawberry jar, the type with many holes. I wonder how you fill it with soil. If I put soil higher than the lowest hole, the soil will go out, especially when I water it. If so, it can only hold a little bit soil. What shall I do?

Well, I didn't buy window box this year. But I bought 2 troughs to hang on my yard fence. They look great!

Haha, this is the hard time from Spring. It's so warm here now that many people wear T-shirt. However the official last frost date is in May. I can't wait any more and already start my garden. Now all I can do is to cross my finger.:)

BTW, I stopped by your blog. It's very nice. I can't imaging raising chicken in my back yard.:P

Oh, I don't have many berries, only a couple of pots. I use beautiful strawberry jars and they are more like decorations. It won't look good if I put bird netting on it.:P

Last year, I grew some raspberry and strawberry. Birds kept coming to eat them. So I got nothing. Well, I plant for fun instead of eating. But it still annoys me. How can you protect them from birds while leaving them outside in air?
