I have 15 tires with potatoes planted. Some are coming up but they are coming up as leaves about 3 and the plant is maybe a half inch high.
I've read about a 3 leaf limit? Do I go ahead and over them more? They are not planted very deep at all. I've covered them with hay and some pine...
I have 12 tires planted so far and I still need a few more tires which tonight my neighbors called and had a few more tires.
I've been reading a lot tonight where some people didn't have a lot of luck with the tires and some people had great luck. So I'm hoping for the best.
I guess it...
I will be interested in the response on this post. I have some planted in some peat pots and they are about a half inch tall. I'm in zone 7 so I'm thinking I can plant soon.

Mine come up from the roots I guess but I keep the dead stalks there until spring. I did try to transplant some and they were doing really well but the chickens kept them eat up.

About a month ago I planted tomato seeds in 20 oz styrofoam cups and cut holes in the sides and watered good. I put them in the window with a sandwich bag over them. They've come up and getting taller but seems a little spindley in other words skinny. A few have died but most of them are...

They planted 50 lb bag and the potato cut up into mostly quarters.

Ninja, we grew potatoes all my life but I lived in Eastern Arkansas and used a donkey and a hand plow. This tire and cage idea sounds wonderful because we would have to get on our hands...
They look good. Mine are about that size. I put mine in 20 oz styrofoam cups with sandwich bags over them in my living room window.
Tomorrow I'm going to try to start some in some 20 oz coke bottles.
Is it exciting to see them grow!!

I was wondering about what type of worms you could use. Last year I was going to grow worms for my chickens. I got some night crawlers from my woods and I went to the bait shop to buy some. The lady at the bait shop told me nightcrawlers wouldn't work that well. Mine ending up dying that I...
I remember as a kid my mother would start them in an old dish pan and put a piece of glass over the dish pan to keep the plants warm. She never bought plants.

The redbud trees in our front yard are about 20 years old. They are not as pretty in the spring as they use to be several years ago. The limbs are very long and hang low. During the summer we will have to trim the limbs. I was wondering if after they bloom this year if we cut them way back...
