I have a large unfinished old celler type basement. I was wondering if i could turn part of it into a greenhouse type deal to grow veggies and stuff part of the year and for seed starting? I also would have bins of red worms as well. I think i could firguge out the lights but it gets so cold...
Has anyone used fish tanks for seed starting or growing year round? I don't have a greenhouse but i have tons of fish tanks. Id love to find a way to grow veggies and fruit year round. I also have heat lamps that i used for my chicks.

Okay should have asked it this way. Could i put the shavings from the coop in the tubs? So the chicken poop would not be fresh. Also i have 2 tons on straw just sitting and rotting that we inherited with the house. Would the worms eat that?
Also could we get a material list for this project?
could you use rabbit and chicken poo in the tub? What about pine shavings? Could we see picks of your setup to get them to move to the new tub?

I am getting two baby apple trees this week. Can i get some tips on the best ways to not kill them. I have horriable luck with plants and they will be the start of my orchard. Is this too late to get them? I really want this to work.
