Can I build a greenhouse with this?

I'm doing the same thing! Starting to save up all my "scrap and crap" for a greenhouse. My Dad built a good sized, all glass greenhouse by offering a guy at a pawn shop $200 for about 30 old windows, what a deal!!! I got a few old windows from a friends house the other day but it's not enough...

OMG the photos in this thread!! Absolutely gorgeous!! Makes a gardeners heart pound.... Have any of you transplanted mature grape vines instead of taking cuttings? I have a Thompson seedless that I truly planted in the wrong place, dont know what I was thinking as that was 2 years ago and my...

    Dipped in Honey

I had to laugh at myself, sounding like "our house here, our house there, our house on the riviera - lol" I was actually born in Florida, moved to Alaska, now WA. So "our house" in Florida is my grandparents house that they paid off and now just sits since they've passed, and we go down whenever...

    Dipped in Honey

That is for sure portulaca. At our house in Florida it re-seeds itself every year even though here in Seattle is an annual and does nothing of the sort.... Based on your geography I think you can do anything.... Likes hot and lame soil, its grows in the worst sandy/shelly/soil I've ever seen...

This ought to be a good one.....who is from BYC??

Yeah, did go there first but immediately saw SSF and TEG and knew I'd have to go to all 3 since they equal all slices of the pie that is my life.... I'm sort of hoping that SSF and EGF stay smaller, I've let myself get sucked into the controversal stuff on BYC that has absolutely nothing to...

    DE for killing slugs???

By beneficial insects in the garden specifically, do you mean spiders? pollenating insects? worms? I may have to face it and fence every garden area that I have, which would be alot of fence, because my dog loves beer apparently, and it gets tipped over, etc.

    DE for killing slugs???

Uggghhh Slugs are the BAIN of my existence!! Probably fellow Seattle gardeners would not think it's crazy that I actually want to MOVE to Oregon to get away from slugs! I "pick" them as I find them and I can always be found on a drizzly spring morning in pajamas with spear in hand murderously...

    DE for killing slugs???

Has anyone used DE? Been successful? I just got a bag but the guy at the store didnt think it works on slugs... ???? I read that it did (on BYC) and assume it would based on dehydration factor, maybe they are not attracted to it? Would love to stop guessing.... THANKS!

    Transplant a mature Wisteria

AWESOME! I'm so excited to be able to move it since it's got such great potential to cover up an ugly area that also needs privacy (if you can imagine we need privacy on 2acres, they are developing all around us). THANK you SO much!!

    Transplant a mature Wisteria

HI! - newbie here.... Can I do this? This guy is not flowering and the vine is taking over an area to close to my good sun garden to give up... It's also climbing up an evergreen because it doesnt have the proper arbor for its size. I'd like to move it to a sunny chain link fence area and...
