I attract chickadees, house finches, gold finches, titmice, doves, grosbeaks, bushtits, towhees, sparrows occasionaly, white crowned sparrows during winter, juncos, and many more. :)
Althought birds would appreciate sunflowers when they go to seed they can go just as well without them. Birdfeeders are fun. Heres a pic of one of mine:
also, I HIGHLY recommend checking this book out at the library or purchasing this book which helped me a lot when I started cottage gardening. I still look at it to get inspired.

radishes will do this sometimes. It happened me many years ago. They looked exactly like that. This year my radishes did VERY well. They came from burpee seeds. Burpee Seed Co. has good quality radish seeds as do many other major seed co's
We have thyme, rosemary, lemon balm, peppermint, marjoram, lavender, sage, and another herb which Ive forgotten what its called. Im planting borage, lemon verbena, verbena, and chamomile next year to add to the herb garden. :watering
:barnie arggggg......lemon balm finished seeding and is all in the dirt :barnie . The seeds are so small. I'm so sorry but, it's impossible to get them now. You can buy some lemon balm if need it now. Sorry

Fire ants? where do you live? Fire ant's are pests. My suggestion would be to dothis. If they are on a trail put some grease/butter on a string and "guide" them away somewhere else. As for putting in pestecide. I wouldn't, becuase there are other bugs in there such as...
