    Re Potting

How important is it to repot your veggie plants? I am growing them now in a float bed and they seem to be doing fine. Do I really need to put them in a bigger pot? If I decide that I dont need the second plant that is growing in some of the spaces can I just cut it off instead of risking...

    Strawberry Plugs?

I don't think I have ever seen a package of strawberry seeds. Plenty of bare root plants / starter plugs but never seed packs. Do you think that you could do this by mashing up a strawberry and mixing it with dirt?

    Turn off the lights?

When do you suggest turning off or cycling the lights in your seed start areas? Mine is in a room in the garage so I have 100% control of lights, wind, and temp. The plants are up about 2 inches, so is it time to start flipping the switch? Had anyone ever used a plug in timer for the lights...

    Strawberry Plugs?

I have used them and they work very well. mine actually grew well enough that last year I took the tiller and cut paths through the strawberry bed again and then went back and picked up all the ones that were whole still and planted 3 more rows. These seemed to have taken right off as well. I...

    rabbits and broccoli don't mix

Contrary to your subject line, they mix quite well. I prefer them as Steamed on the Broccoli and Fried on the Rabbit but I suppose you could always do a cassorole and bbq thumper? ;)

    Transplanting Rhubarb

Ok, I went and got it a little bit ago. I am not sure if I killed it or not but I had no idea that the roots go so deep. I dug down about 12 in (full depth of shovel) and just lifted the plant but the root only seemed to be getting bigger at that depth so when I lifted I broke them. Did I...

    Transplanting Rhubarb

I was given 3 very large clumps on Rhubarb and need to move them. Am I better of waiting until they start to grow leaves and then moving or do it before they start? I would also like to divide them out a little to fit in longer smaller rows to grow together more, so again should that be done...

    Making Maple Syrup

Did anyone hear about the cub scouts and cemetary personnel that are apparently in a bunch of trouble for tapping the maple trees in the cemetary? There are a bunch that are fussing because it is "distrurbing the ones at rest". I will have to say I disagree, I mean they are kids doing a good...
