LOL, G4F! My brother suggested that, but no thanks.
vfem, my only problem with that is my garden is right up against a fence and they could hop right off of it into the garden. But its always worth a shot, right?
Thanks again everyone.
Would moth balls work? the only animals out there are the cats! lol.
Rosalind, a fence wont be difficult to put up. I've got a couple rolls of chicken wire doing nothing. So far they're just pooping, but I've got nothing coming up yet since I just planted, so I dont know if they'll try eating...
Will chicken wire work? I can easily do that, but I'd figure they'd just climb right on over. I really dont want to be eating veggies grown in cat poop!
Hey Everyone,
Well Im cleaning my garden, getting it all prepped. I planted a few random things, just for the heck of it. The seeds were 5 for $1, so it wont be too much if a loss. I planted carrots, beets, etc. Anyways, I went out this morning and a chunk of my radish row was dug up and there...
I got my one from Baker Creek a few days ago, it was on the 24th, and wow is it amazing! My other catalogs are paper really, but this one is like a little book! I got that one, Johnnys, Burpee, and a few other various ones. I think I've got 6-7 all together... Oh Seeds of Change or something...
We only grown Blue Lakes here! We tried Kentucky Wonder one year and they were horrible. I'd like to try a different variety this year though, just for the heck of it.
I really want to plant something. Roses or trees would be fun, but we're in a rental so that isnt happening. I went and bought seeds today just to feed my addiction for a while. I cant plant them yet, but it was really fun going through the various ones and reading about them! And some were 50%...
Dig more space for a bigger garden! That's the plan this year anyways. My mom, sister, grandma and I bake a lot of cookies and other goodies around Christmas time. We love looking up new recipes online and tryin them out. other than that, there isnt much I do. I love reading, drawing, and...
Hey Aminah!
I dont think you are too far away, but what do I know? lol.
Well, grandma has found us out! haha. Her birthday was on the 10th, but the nursery isnt getting any trees til January! They had some, but nothing that really interested her. So we are just going to get everything...
Honestly, my tomatoes, corn and beans. I got 30 tomatoes a day sometimes, and so many beans, it was unreal. My corn did real well for my first year, I think. Everything else did pretty well, but those three were really great. Guess I should have added that Im still picking quite a few tomatoes...
More corn and lots of cucumbers for pickling. More watermelon as well. Varieties that ripen at different times, because my family loves watermelon and I did not have enough this year. I think everything else did pretty well, but Im sure there is a lot I'd love to add. Babying my giant pumpkins...
Thanks, everyone! I think I'll ask my grandma, lol. We are always talking about a million things we want, so hopefully I can question her about it and she wont catch on!
aee, thank you! I will have to look out for those. We have a yellow peach, so a white would be nice.
Pat, I dont believe...
Hey Everyone!
I would go to my grandma for this question, but the fruit tree is for her! She's been wanting a Nectarine or Cling Peach(? I think ?). Her birthday is on the 10th, and I brought the idea up to my mom and dad to get her one. So my question is, if we could find a tree for her right...
We had TONS of hummingbirds this year, with no feeders at all! They really loved my zinnias.
My Pride and Joy of the season is definitely my entire veggie garden! I havent grown my own ever, so I was very proud of it. I know most of you guys have seen my photos, lol.
