Do I need to prune it at all?
I've seen one video where the gardener just pruned it down to 2 inches height... but I'm not sure whether that's gonna work for me. I live in Los Angeles, where the weather is a bit different, and I don't wanna mistime any pruning and ruin optimal harvest.
I tried sticking in the Luster Leaf 4-in-1 Rapitest meter to measure my pH, and it read "7."
That said, I don't know if it's accurate, because the needle didn't even budge. It was "7" before I stuck it in, and it was "7" when I had stuck in the ground, and it was "7" afterward.
So maybe it's...
Thanks for the video. Great stuff.
Question: If my pH is low, that means I need to get peat moss.
What about compost? Can I just add compost, instead?
'Cause I did a search, and it seems like compost is actual food for the plant, whereas peat moss doesn't offer anything in terms of nutrients.

I've never planted anything in my life. I'd appreciate it, if I can get some really simple advice on how to plant them.
So far, all I have is a shovel and some cheap pH meter. I don't even know where the...
I've researched Sunset zones. I believe I'm in Sunset zone 22... but all the nurseries rely on zone 1-10... so I don't know how to convert Sunset zone 22 to the actual zone 1-10...
1. What kind of blackberries do well, here? I was thinking of Apache from Gurneys.
2. Do blackberries need to be pollinated? For example, would it benefit an Apache blackberry, if it was planted right next to, say, boysenberry?
3. How much distance should there be between blackberry canes...
I'm completely new to planting fruit trees, so I was hoping I can get some help from people with some experience.
I've done some research on my own, but there's still a lot of stuff that confuses me. For instance, the zone maps. According to what I've read, the whole point of these zone maps...
