vferm - Thanks and sorry to hear you burned yourself... I burnt my finger with the stupid steam when I opened my canner and I try to be soooo careful cause man that stuff hurts!

Thanks :D I'll be back at it today... dh picked another bushel of tomatoes, then cherry tomatoes, then pepper.... he almost got a bushel of Jalapenos!
We need to make more salsa... I canned 13 pints yesterday and put 1 quart, 1 pint and 1 jelly jar in the fridge for us to eat on now.
Thank You Everybody... over all we did have a GREAT garden season, this is my 2nd year canning and it really saves come winter time and now that we have our chickens/eggs... woohooo we are set :D We have given LOADS of stuff to family and friends too... whenever some one comes down to visit...
:thumbsup Nice... Tomato/basil soup sounds yummy... pleeease share your recipe. I did tomatoes today too, more tomorrow, had alittle over a bushel and more in the garden.
lesa - I dried them all day... didnt time it sorry I would just check them through out the day... my temp. was on 140. I've read you can store them in a plastic baggie for 2 months or freeze them for 6 months?
How does everyone store theirs?
Thanks Everyone.... going to make some more today, its a pain to slice those lil cherry tomatoes but they sure taste good when all the works done :D
I borrowed my mother in laws dehydrator... nice to have!
I shredded and freeze to make zucchini bread, then I slice or chop, freeze until I want to use some... I add it to soups, casseroles or bake in oven with olive oil, spices and other frozen veggies (squash, peppers) ... so good :)
