Definitely freeze for better flavor. I freeze mine diced in serving size. I can just grab them out to thaw to mix with my yogurt or ice cream.
My dad teases me silly about my peach and ice cream habit. I keep telling him it's dairy and fruit, can't go wrong with that. LOL!
Thanks for all the help. I'm hoping in the next couple of days to get all the suggestions done, as we are getting a break from the unbearable heat and humidity. I've been watching CL for straw. I see a lot of hay, but worry that weeds may be more of a problem with that.
Usually weeds...
My cukes, zukes and squash are doing great. The look wonderful and I've been picking 10-12 nice picklers every morning. This is the first year I'll be getting and zukes and squash. I moved them really far from their original spot since I had probs in the past.
I have some scalloped squash...
I seem to having a heck of a time with my tomatoes this year.
Quick runs down
I have jellybean grapes, romas, early girl and rutgers.
I planted in a new spot this year. It was where I parked my round bales last year
Our weather is crazy hot and humid. I'm hit by a "wall of water"...
We've gotten some of our best planting deals from Lowes. Last year I picked up a bunch of lilies on the cheap. I just planted them when I got them home. This year they look wonderful. I also picked up some purple salvia type perenials for $.50 a pot. They have absolutely taken over the...
Well after 3 days of non-stop winds we hit a problem. My winds have come from every direction imaginable and all this shaking managed to loosen a lot of the nuts. This caused great problems with the panels staying in. A severe storm moved in on Sunday sending panels all over my yard :hit So...
Thank you for the welcome. As soon as the rain stops Sunday afternoon I'll putting 6 flats of flowers and veggies in there. Come on Monday, more flats to plant.
Happy gardening
Unfortunately I no longer have a Big Lots that convenient to me and when I have made the trip they never seem to have anything good. :( But Stark Bros isn't really that far of a drive and the right time of the year it's a beautiful drive. I used to have a Stark Bros nursery 5 minutes from my...
I've never ordered any livegoods from Gurney's before so I can't speak for them on that. I do have several stark trees and wow on those. I planted them in the spring and the following spring several of them set fruit. I have the standard size tree since I have plenty of orchard space but a...
Well I finally did it. The HF catalog came out with this greenhouse listed for 599.99 and with the 20% coupon I scored big time. The construction is almost complete, can't be soon enough for me. We have panel installation and then the flats I have on the bathroom floor (it's heated) can head...
Thanks for the heads up on the clips. I think I will keep dreaming about this unit and order clips before we begin construction. I was planning on putting it in a somewhat wind protected spot (if I don't get spot vetoed from hubby), so that should help. I would love to have mine placed like...
I have been looking at this exact same greenhouse since last fall. Now that my hubby is going back to work I'm about ready to buy but I'm interested to know how it held up durring some of the crazy winds that we got this winter.
Wow, at that price. It's been online for $800. Hopefully when...
I'm over in Moscow Mills, about an hour from St Lou. I have gardens popping up all over the place here. I have 4 8x8 raised beds in the back yard, only 2 in use right now with cukes, toms, eggplant and green beens. This year I had hubby till another large area in the lower fields for...
