    Squash bug war

Your challenge scared me! I have lost all of my first yellow and zucchini squash to squash bugs and haven't been able to get any leverage. It's my first time dealing with them..I'm hoping to be able to get a second crop in next weekend away from the first. I have basically just given up on the...

New to growing tomatillos, have a question

I had no idea how large tomatillos got and planted 8 of them in a relatively tight spot. It's my first time growing them, but now I know not to crowd them so much. Mine are probably 3 feet tall and getting flowers now.

    Squash fritter

Wowww......I didn't know a "patty pan" what a kind of squash! Great news for me because when I googled I found that it's a scallop squash-something I'm growing this year but had no idea what to do with. I feel like I just won the lottery! Thanks so much!

My first pepper harvest of 2012

Beautiful! Poblanos are just right for me, but I can't seem to manage peppers from seed and I never find the small plants for them around here.

The 'Please Don't Stay On Topic' Thread

LOL! I used to work for a VERRRY stuffy law firm and my husband would get so nervous about his English at holiday parties that I'd have to get him good and "loose" before we left. The problem is that there's a fine line before he becomes very "loose". Needless to say one year he told the elderly...

    trying artichoke..

In my reading I've seen "Green Globe" recommended highly. It will be my first time growing any at all. Am I too late to plant seeds this year and produce anything? I've seen mixed opinions of the plants overwintering in zone 7b. Any specific advice? I'd like to install an attractive permanent...
