Hi, I'm an Army brat and grew up some in KY TN. Clarksville Ft Campbell area. I love TN and still have family there.
BUT did you know there is a super plant nursery near you??? In McMinnville, TN. Called Summer*** something I can't remember exactly-but they have excellent prices, and free...
In my small worm bins I move all 'muck' over to one end and put new fresh wet paper and compost yummies on the other end and wait a couple day-the worms move over to the 'fresh' side and I harvest the poop...eewww! Works great! But when I'm in a hurry I do the scoop and pluck method too.
I have that same daylily and have been wondering the same thing so...this year I tried an experiment with two other daylilies in my yard. I tried to pollinate my Rhinestone Kid and my 'something something pink' with the Kwanso. Both put on seeds which is hopeful-but are probably a mistake.
I am...
Maybe consider a Wildlife Habitat. You can incorporate both a garden and a wildlife habitat into your area. Check out this link for help in getting your backyard certified. http://www.nwf.org/backyard/
I bet your having the time of your life-have fun!
Give the dog a bone...hehehe. You know where my mind is today, carol. I say love the stupid mutt anyway-or send it here and I'll let it dig up my yard...funny what you miss ain't it?
I don't know what to say for the wisteria-sorry. Hope it makes it.
This is the 1st I've been online today-got...
Thanks Pat, I know what you mean about the sulking thing but I like to go for some plants that aren't in everybodies yard yet. And I was thinking that if it preforms anywhere near as well as reported in online forums, or as well as my shrub peonies that have been growing in the same spot for 80+...
I have fancy day lilies and white peonies to offer in trade. I've been dying to find some white iris for a friend. (hope she doesn't pop in here) hehehe
I have plenty other stuff to offer-let me look at your zone and see where you are.
Are you interested?
I got an envelope in the mail Monday with the sweetest little packet of seeds. THANK YOU! The same day came a catalog that had them in it-such beautiful flowers-I'm very excited.
I especially like the dark marbled leaf ones. I know your not suppose to let them go to flower, but I do-I like the little purple blooms too, and since their only annuals here, I figure 'whats the difference?"
I get free seedlings every year from a local nursery, so I plant them in amongst my...
I'd sit them in the window sill behind my kitchen sick-I've ripened several this way over the years. Do not refrigerate them or they wont ripen. Also I've read about putting them in a paper sack with an apple I think it is...but can't remember that way.
Just yesterday a fellow gave me a bunch of...
I get my red wigglers from the local bait and tackle shop. Their so cheap-it amazing.
I read there are 2 types of worms that will work best:
The two types of earthworm best suited to worm composting are the redworms: Eisenia foetida (commonly known as red wiggler, brandling, or manure worm)...
I agree with copycat(hehehe that's funny) about the Campanula.
The first picture is difficult to make out much detail. It would help to see it from a different angle, and a leaf by it's self maybe.
Perhaps you could take a sample in to your county extension office and see if they can help.
oooo, I've got one on order from Gurneys, I think it was. They had a web special that was 3 roses for 19.99
Joesph's coat is one of them. I love the orange/pink color of it.
I've found on my other roses, that once I dead head the expired blooms, they will often rebud and bloom. Just a thought.
