It's 11 am and 43 here right now. But the sun is out! My lettuce has sprouted from the indoor pot :) Going to try and get some work outside done today. Hope all have a wonderful day.

Started my tomato seeds inside today and the other day I planted some lettuce in a pot to grow inside for a bit. Will move the pot outside once weather permits. Still have snow on the ground here, but it is melting :celebrate
I just started my tomatoes today. Being in Zone 4b I won't be putting them out for quite sometime. Last year I had plastic milk jugs over most of my plants. And like you said "a mini green house" Works great. Make sure you post some pics of those tomatoes in May so I can get real Jealous...
We've got some really high winds here too. Hope it'll help dry up some of this mud! Still have snow, but not in the drive or around the buildings. I can actually see some of my flower plants out front :)
It's 49 here right now...when we went to Alpena earlier it was 52 there. We did stop at TSC looked at the chicks and walked away. Didn't look like they had any special ones. I needed to get a couple larger watering cans for the chicks, two qt ones doesn't do it any longer. Tired of filling 3...

Looks to be a better day then yesterday was. At least it's starting that way. Already 46 and sun is trying to peek out from behind some clouds. The snow is melting fast! DH took down two pine trees yesterday to enlarge the garden. Now time to dig some roots. Sure glad...

Have you checked out the seed swap on BYC site? If you're interested on a few seeds and have some extra of your own it's kinda neat.

:thumbsup I just read about trellising the melons today on a another site. Then I read this...well living here in northern MI I have never been satisfied the way the melons turned out...to small, not ripe, very few. Such a short season here zone 4 so I'm going to try the trellis this year.
