I have a contorted weeping 'covey' redbud. Their good to -23f they say. I'm in zone 5 and have had it in the ground now through 2 winters.
Their kind of pricey for a redbud. The regular redbud trees grow like weeds here. But if it makes it,I'll have something "special".

I have two worm bins going. One at home(hidden from my hubby) and one also hidden on my desk at work. lol
I love them, I'm all about composting in any fashion. And the weird looks are worth it alone!
I am in central Indiana. And am certainly willing to pay shipping however sent.
The bigger the tree the better, not to sound greedy. sry.
I ordered 2 online and got (barely)rooted cuttings. dang it! I might have already told ya'll that, can't remember.
Anyway thanks for the offers and I will PM...
Well I got impatient, didn't want to wait for seeds, and couldn't find anyone here to send me a tree SOOOOO I bought 3 seedlings from ebay for $9.99 plus shipping. So the 3 trees came yesterday. 3 Mimosa seedlings for $20, not too bad right?
WRONG-the note with them said 'your trees are still...
I have used a mantis for several years now. Their a bit jumpy in my opinion but I LOVE mine. It does an amazing job.
I wasn't very impressed when the husband brought it home to me-but it grew on me.
They wont grow in your (and my) zone5 outside year round, so I have mine in pots as house plants and move them in and out with the weather. Mine are never gonna produce, because container avacados usually don't, but they make a wonderful house plant...uh...tree!
I have grown them both freestyle...
wow how lovely! And I love to talk to people in the garden departments of local nurseries. What fun and informative people.
I think you most certainly should crack the window if possible. The inside of a car will heat up quick even on an overcast day. Heck-I would have brought it inside to my...
Thanks for the info Pat-I know I could have googled it but much simpler here.
I have cat mint growing in my yard, wild. I have found if you remove the flower heads before seeding-then it comes back much less the next year. But I like the spreading-I have 3acres/wildlife habitat-so sow like crazy!
A lady on freecycle just gave me some spearmint last night-wow the smell is so strong. I am amazed. I hope it roots in.
Wondering how it compares to wintergreen? The spearmint is somewhat leggy and appears to root where it touches the ground.
wow beautiful! I bet you sit in the yard for hours?
I'd sure love to have a cutting from your lady Banks...you wanta send one to Indiana? I have several rose bushes if you'd like me to send you a cutting in return?
At my grandma's house fresh greens were "wilted" in bacon grease and eaten. I've also had them wilted with mayo. In the south we ate most greens cooked, not fresh in a salad(all healthy like they should be)
I don't know...I see them planted pretty close to each other around here in Indiana. But with your concerns I'd probably let them get started and then spend a little time talking to them and plucking out the crowded, leaving the strong.
I do terrariums. I have 3 going right now. One is a huge glass antique bottle that would accommodate a Norfolk Pine(but I'm currently using it to root some gardenia cuttings), and you can get very small Norfolk pines. BUT the humidity produced inside a terrarium is more than a Norfolk Pine would...
Here in central Indiana we don't get much polk weed. But when I do see a young stalk I keep an eye on it until exactly the right size for plucking-YUMMY! Reminds me of Sunday dinner when grandma would always have fried chicken and fried polk when in season. Down south polk grows everywhere...
Is the privacy fence 6' tall? or is it the 28" tall? It looks to be the 6' tall kind?
Sorry-I confused you-I didn't want to know how much to construct as much as I wanted to know specs.
thanks anyway-trial and error here.
:)
