A full-time gardener day - I guess I worked in the garden for at least 5 hours. I drank about 3L water, several cups of ice coffee, and half chilled melon
Anyway, pruning, mowing, weeding, feeding, mulching -- all kinds of corners, all kinds of work
and the reward? I ordered...
I have 5-day off this week, and would like to take 5-day off every month from now on.
As the weather is mild and lovely, I stayed in the garden for a couple of hours. First, I harvested scallion from the water feature bed.
Just a few weeks time, this bed looks gorgeous already.
For me, it's...
First strawberry harvest, about 1.5kg, and 150g wild strawberries :love Basils divided from the supermarket potted plants have many side shoots, so, round 1 is collected.
Also some chamomile~
I do not care what they will do next season, as I no longer expect them (especially hybrid varieties) to come back and treat them now as annual. After they die back, I pull them out and pile them in the wildlife garden corner. If they come back years later, that's gift. :)
Today's (a local holiday) offering in the cafe
Blueberry cheesecake
I picked some larger fruits from my beloved wild strawberry bed to make decoration
Paired with Matcha Latte
Made some cinnamon rolls, and the first group of customer (6 young hikers) finished them in no time. When the...
Just made something lovely today - a Focaccia with only 5 ingredients: flour, water, salt, dried parsley, and mozzarella cheese—plus our sourdough starter, which is nothing more than flour and water given time and care.
A little dip of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar brings it all...
Well well, let's disclose who is the lucky new resident! One of the online nurseries I like has end of season offer for 60% discount, so I finally got 6 clumps of Agapanthus 'Black Buddhist'.
So, this hole is dug by Bobo, and I used the soil dug out by moles to fill the gaps, then it rains to...
Such a lovely Crimson Plum color under morning sunlight~
The front yard and the water feature are doing well, especially after two-day rain.
Plants are happy, I will say.
To make very fresh salad
And the rain came again, so I cut some peonies, especially those fully blossom ones, too heavy...
Great! I didn't realize how useful a trimmer can be until these two years and can't live without it now. We bought many devices and batteries from a same brand, pretty handy.
Especially during rainy days, trimmers can work well while mowers can't. DH got a heavy duty one, and I got a...
These two days, I worked in this small pathway to the main garden. I never really paid attention to this pathway since we move in. It was taken as a place for the trash bins, ladder, pallets, and plants to die down.
DH was responsible for this pathway, but it's a meaningless chore for him. What...
Flowers are doing great this year, too - now is the time for Iris and Lupine. Rose, Delphiniuim, Yarrow, Shasta Daisy, Daylily, Sweet William, Chamomile, and Valerian are doing the last preparation.
Absolutely gorgeous
Roses are about to blossom, too.
Elderberry (white), the dark red...
Young fruit trees in the main garden are bearing fruits nicely this year.
Pears
Currants propagated from cuttings, finally bearing fruits
Peach, finally
Gooseberry propagated from cuttings also starts producing
more pears (my love)
Honeyberry, finally, I didn't know it needs two plants...
