Talked youngest DD into helping me water!! I had the 2 plastic pitchers full and she emptied them into the whiskey barrel planter with the peppers AND helped me get my walker out so that I could water the 2 pepper pots (sans drainage holes) and the big pot with the tomatoes and peppers.
NO RAIN...
Today I made it 6 hours before my left leg complained and woke me up at 4:15AM.
After months and months of this I Now know all of the overnight live programming.
I took yesterdays leftover coffee and microwaved a cup, started newly ground with the timer, took some Advil--the doctors cannot limit...
Got rain last night. I can tell bc neighbors across the street have their "rain puddle" at the entrance to their driveway.

DH complained of being cold on the porch, probably bc we have been living in the AC for nearly 3 weeks straight.

Everything I have transplanted looks good, but my next job will be to water the tomatoes and all of the pots of peppers, which have lovely white...
DH needs to be near to babysit me on the few times I can get outside to do ANY gardening, so I can get some help if I fall. I probably shouldn't be out this soon, 4 weeks past surgery, but DD's absolutely reFUSE to help me with much gardening and are complaining that they will have to mow here...

I once saw an episode on "Croc Hunter"--I know he passed away some 15 years ago--on how multiplying mice will gnaw away at contained livestock, in this case hogs, tormenting them and making them ill.

Our Illinois rain this year is SO SPOTTY!!! DH and I drove into C-U on Saturday, driving into and under a shelf cloud.
It.poured.buckets of rain There, not a Drop at my house 25 miles SE.
THEY had flooding...we had dust bunnies. Such has been our summer and the past few years.
