I am SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! :hugs
Sorry, my dismal 2025 gardening Beats yours!!
(Go to my thread...)
Still, I have learned SO MUCH about container gardening this year, by accident.
Our weather has been Garden LOUSY, 2 years in a row--yours probably, too, so it's not a loss.
So...with somewhat limited energy, I chopped up one full tray of garlic slices and that big jalepano in a previous picture on another tray. I MEANT to fill the 6 trays of the dehydrator, but couldn't, so I left the glass doors open.
Last night I thought, What the hay? and started it up for 6...
@ninnymary , you will learn to LOVE your laptop!! :love
Consider: it sits on your lap or you dining room table, has a nice battery, maybe 4 hrs like mine, so you don't always have to have it plugged in, and many/most have loads of RAM (random access memory) and many more GIGS than My first...
I read a few pages back regarding poison ivy. Here is my go to, and for $2/bar it's a very good deal.
The directions say to lather up and LEAVE.ON.
Me and DD's each keep a bar of this in a travel soap container and we Swear by it for poison ivy and other weed rashes, when you forget to cover up...
:welcome from Central Illinois!
THis is a very friendly place with gardeners of all levels, and those who dip in and dip out--life will get in the way.
Be sure to put your general location, Florida or FL works, with your avatar. When you start posting I won't remember where you live...
A few years ago the group of 4 of us had a planned excursion after our Alaska cruise to visit Mt. Rainier. We laid over one day in Seattle before flying back. We (3) have gone to the Colorado Rockies SO many times and we know the topography. Imagine our surprise--All winding roads weaving...
Yes, I did sprout (direct seeded) a handful of sugar snap peas this Spring. Gosh they were great right off of the vine!
Our Springs are So inconsistent--I think I will use distilled water jugs--I have at least 20 downstairs right now!--and start them early in those for next Spring.
I think that...
For your consideration, or just to admire, an 8 inch Jalapeño Grande! It grew in my whiskey barrel planter in front of the house, first year container gardening.
While I await @flowerbug's answer, I am proud to say that I had a small harvest--a Jalapeño!!
Pretty near 9 inches long, from one of the whiskey barrel planter peppers.
Dunno how I missed this since I have been pulling grasses and weeds out of this planter, BUT I kept looking at one of the...
So, you might agree that my plan for planting both types of garlic in 2025, which is after my 8 weeks of bone healing, around September 4th, would be okay?
I want to feel safe pushing my foot down on a shovel, you see.
YOU @flowerbug , are our resident garlic expert, and I agree, " too much moisture at the wrong time and not getting it lifted when it is ready."
I am very confused--I have two trains of thought re: garlic handling.
1) plant cloves from harvested bulbs one month after harvest
This would Not have...
