i still had some beans to pick but i'm not sure now that they'll be any good with how much rain is in the forecast. yet i will cross those bridges when i get to them...
some of the bean plants are still finishing up. the website for first frost dates puts us down for average on Oct 22nd, but...
rained much of the night and this morning, looks like chances most of the week.
a good day to read some interesting articles and came across this one:

which i'm reading, but then i saw a reference in...
i know it is wonderful to get going on shelling beans. i've not had as much time in recent weeks as i would normally have but here or there i squeeze in a few because it really is my favorite time of the year.
today i spent at least a whole hour (maybe two since time can go by so quickly)...

the same place most of my day went, limboland, daydreamville, reading and writing and then some lunch and outside for a while to scrape the north garden. amazing how quick that can go when there aren't other plants to go around or in the way - a half hour or less and it was done.
my prep for bad weather amounts to making sure the propane refill is on-order if we are getting low and getting out the snow shovels and brush/scraper for the car windshield. oh, and if the power seems to be flickering i'll fill up an extra bucket of water to flush the toilets.
