I would introduce pellets as soon as possible...the mash is messy and creates too much waste, crumbles are the next step up but they can be wasteful, too. Pellets are never wasted! May take timeto get them used to it, that is why I suggest introducing as soon as possible.

I would just smash them. You can wipe them off with a damp cloth or just mush them with your fingers. I actually pulled a leaf off my mustard green and put 2 of them in a butterfly habitat for my children.

I bought some seeds since my self sowing haven't come back in a few years. I used to get the bright orange flowers, but this variety has purple in it...I'm guessing it's still edible, since I bought it from a reputable source, but purple? I'd love to get some ORANGE variety seeds.
