yes, you can certainly do better by using a bit of butter and powdered sugar if you need frosting or if you want a cream puff filling ours is basically water, butter, sugar, flour and vanilla - nothing odd in that at all...

no, it's more like a mixture of fat and sugar and as much air as they can get into it plus faint other flavors like vanilla. marshmallow would be an improvement but it wouldn't be shelf stable or firm enough.

it's going ok so far. i even have some empty spaces in the bookshelves. now that i also got rid of the worm buckets i've opened up some floor space again that was taken up for 15 years.

i liked them when they had some vanilla and slight lemon flavor, but the last ones i tried went the same direction as most candies and Little Debbie snack cakes. that is, they went to nothing but sweet and almost no other flavor. the only thing i've had from them over the years that i liked...

always nice to hear from people down south who are in the thick of it when i'm seeing snow. :) what are your hottest temperatures like? do you have troubles with getting enough rains or do you have irrigation or a well to tide you over the dry spells?

no, i've not had those. i used to like Twinkies, but now i don't so the idea of trying to fry one doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. i've not looked up how they do it. i have enough troubles already i don't need to go looking for even more... :)

shovelled floofy snow this morning, it wasn't too bad and was glad for the fresh air and little bit of exercise. it wasn't supposed to snow today as much as it did and it's cold enough out there that it will be blowing around tonight. tomorrow morning i'll have to get out and do it again - but...
