Pretty nice for February!

It is supposed to snow this weekend. We usually get a couple big storms each winter. This year we have had zero snow. We shall see if the snow pans out!

My daughter's cats wake her up at 5 a.m. every morning. If she plays dead, they grab her hair with their teeth and pull it!!

Asparagus can grow up to 10 inches in just 24 hours if the weather is warm! Bull kelp is also a fast-growing seaweed that can grow up to 2 feet per day!

I love Honey bunches of oats with strawberries! I found another really yummy combo that is more of a snack - Raisin Rosemary crisps from Trader Joe's + cream cheese + ripe strawberries!!

I think it would be fun to hear everyones top 3 favorite games! My current faves are code names, charades, and ransom notes.

Today in 1935 the game Monopoly goes on sale for the first time. I remember playing that game a lot. I think the game Catan has kinda taken Monopoly's place in the last several years.

I just learned that plants know what time of day it is and they use sugar signals to do so! They keep track of the time so they don't starve at night. They also need to know the time of day to know when to release scents, open flowers and just when they should spend energy to grow!

We are getting a strangely warm winter. It often feels like April!

It's supposed to be almost 60 here tomorrow! That is unheard of in February!!!

It's making me sad tho because I love this plant! 😍

I bought a beautiful wintergreen plant this winter that had lovely red berries on it. There are a lot of crows around here and the crows have picked off every single berry! Any ideas for keeping crows away?

We go spot prawn fishing every summer and make wonderful dishes like shrimp scampi, Mediterranean Shrimp, shrimp tacos, Thai Shrimp, Friitti di mare, etc!

I made Mediterranean Shrimp & Spinach last night and it was oh so delicious!

I used to think that sunflowers were just one flower. This is not the case. One sunflower can be made up of one to two thousand mini sunflowers and each produces its own seed!
