Yes you can. All I did was wash them well and then core them and put them in freezer bags making sure to get as much of the air out as possible. When you take them out to use them hold the tomato under warm water and the skin will slide off, chop and enjoy in your recipes.

silkie I should have specified to hill the collards, as it doesn't matter if you hill root crops or not.

you need to hill them up more, put more dirt around them to help them stand up.

I've only had them in the ground anout 5 weeks, isn't this a little early to be flowering or could it be the time of yr. with the hot ground making them grow faster.

My squash and Zukes did awful this yr. I had a lot of male flowers and very few females, my mama and brother gardens in SC were the same way. Mama hardly got any tomatoes this yr, she said there were no bees this yr.

I have always put them in a brown paper bag and put them in a dark closet for about a week and that will ripen them. It's something to do with the CO2 they put off that help them ripen.
