I tried micro dwarf tomatoes one year. I found myself without my grow lights, so I tried just in a window area. It was not enough. I may try again soon now that I have grow lights again. Maybe also get a head start on some herbs.

I finally purchased some rainbow varieties/colors for the school garden I'm working on. I also will grow out a blue bean variety in my home garden. I now need to work on planning and spacing. I'm getting excited! :)

I'm afraid I did not document the date, but it was about a month ago. I used our compost. I started a new round with seeds of some additional varieties. This was a couple weeks ago and seedlings have emerged. These will be more interesting due to no grow lights. Those were in a potting soil mix...

I agree with the beans idea. I think I'd suggest runner beans specifically. The bees love them and they are edible (in multiple stages). Not to mention, the dry beans and flowers are just pretty.

I opened our freezer yesterday and was reminded that I have a lot of work ahead of me. LOL

I'm currently experimenting with micro dwarf tomatoes to see how well they do in our house as a windowsill garden. I have blooms starting!

I vacationed in Alaska at the end of August/early September. It's beautiful. I was very curious about people's gardening habits with the daylight, etc. Fascinating! We just missed the county fair by a day or two.

I tried three of those jalapeno varieties with great results. They were hotter than I expected. :D
