Let's say you have a yellow rose and you go out one day and among all the yellow blooms you see a red bloom. That is a sport. That is how a lot of today's roses come to be. Roses every now and then will throw out a completely different colored bloom.

To successfully grow freshwater plants, you need the right lights and to inject co2 into the aquarium. Without the added co2 most of the interesting plants won't thrive, let alone grow.
