I have a two bin system that are my main composting bins, one is cooking(I hope) and the other I'm still filling up. These are made out of junk I found around the yard. After I'm done filling the second one I'm going to let them both finish and when they're empty tear them down to make new ones...

We don't water our yard, except for the garden and flower bed, etc. because all that grows there is weeds(Mostly Stinging Nettles). I'm thinking of smothering them with 2 or 3 layers of cardboard, and straw. Then Seeding and covering with compost. Would that work? TIA

I recently found a love for Quinoa and your post inspired my to try growing it. I'm in zone 9(Fresno, CA) and I'm worried about it being too hot. It's 100 degrees right now and we just had about 1- 2 weeks of consistently 105 +, Should I start it now for a fall crop or early spring? TIA
