And when? We have rose of sharons, and some flowering vine thing that dad calls a hummingbird plant (think it's a honeysuckle?). Both of these have seed 'pods' on them. How do I save them, and when is the best time to do so?
My dad has a lot of rose of sharon bushes, and I was wondering when and how to collect the seeds? They have tons of pods on them, and I know many people like them. I want to save some to swap with :D

Where would I get the materials, like the cover and such? Would anything grow in the winter...
I am going to be building some dog kennels, and we have a large area of our 'yard' that is unused. It is usually overgrown with ragweed and grass. This would be the perfect place to put these kennels, except for one problem....there is no shade whatsoever. I could use some shade cloth, but would...
I got some seeds from an ebay seller who lives in PA. I'm thinking if they grow them there, these should do fine here in KY. I googled it, and found out that it is hardy to zone 7b (whatever the 'b' means), and I am in zone 6. Is there anything special that I will need to do with them in the winter?
I am in need of some cabbage and peanuts. Also some lettuce other than iceberg, since I already have that. Here's the list of seeds I have to trade. :)

mixed bell peppers
broccoli
Flowers:
Alyssum (carpet of snow)
Baby's breath...
I wasn't sure where to post this at. I had gotten a catalog from Gurney's last month, with a $20 savings certificate on the cover. I just today received another catalog with a $25 savings certificate!! Does anyone know if I can use both of them? It says that if the order is less than the value...
I bought two garden mum plants from walmart last year. I know these are perrenials, but how does that work? I didn't take seeds or anything, and now the area they were in is overrun (temporarily) by chickens. Do they regrow from the roots? Would the chickens have killed them?
