Has anyone had success with Espaliered Fruit Trees?

This is awesome! I love the Belgium pattern-it is beautiful! And, it looks like you can get more trees in this way. I was thinking too-it looks like it would be easier to replace a tree, should one die, using this pattern.

Your plans sound wonderful, and I love that your neighbor is going to be involved too. Thank you so much for the fruit tree source. You mentioned purchasing 6 trees from them, are you planning to use these in your living fence, and are you holding them over in pots right now? I was thinking of...

    Sunflowers-seed collection question.

Thank you, lesa. I will try this. I was not sure if you could cut the flowers before they dried, and if you could, when to cut them, but I will try cutting some too, I can hang them from the garden tool shed ceiling. Thank you journey11 for this idea. Here is a link to the web site where I...

    Sunflowers-seed collection question.

Last year, I grew these sunflowers from purchased seeds. I wanted to collect the seeds, so I could replant this year(and have even more seed), and have seeds to share with friends. Well, the birds got them before I did. I repurchased and replanted seeds this year, what can I do to save my seeds?

Anyone Please have advice on trapping an Armadillo?

I free range chickens, so if there is something safe to use around them, I would try it. It has been hot and dry here, I have to water some of my new plants until they are established, and this is where the armadillo has been digging. I use lots of compost and mulch in my garden beds, and there...

Anyone Please have advice on trapping an Armadillo?

Oh no, do not worry y'all, I have no plans on eating an armadillo, lol. I will get some pictures if I trap him. Last night, he dug inside the trap(I put some loose dirt from the chicken run inside the bottom) he just did not go in far enough to trigger the door!

    Bearded iris pics

I am not an expert, but I would think the amount of rainfall and humidity there is a challenge. I would try a raised bed(better drainage), full sun(so they can dry out good) loose sandy soil. Hope this helps.

Can Someone help me with Irises?

Iris are one of my most favorite flowers. They really are not that difficult to grow. I grow mine in rock gardens, they seem to do best up against the side of a rock. I collect rocks, so it is also a way to display my collection. g]
