I have a neighbor collecting my mail while I'm gone. The last time I texted him there were 4 packages that had arrived somtime aroundthe middle of November. If you don't feel comfortable about sending packages now then I will be leaving Florida on December 13th and should be back home by the 16th.

One time I found a website that showed Potomac as a pole snap bean being released by some seed company in the 1940's. I would bet that would be the white seeded Potomac. I will try to find that site again when I get home and post the information. Thank you @heirloomgal for your research and...

Did the original seed you received look like your grown out seed. Was it a semi runner or bush growth. Email me the growers name and address. I would like out of curiosity to see if I had ever shipped this person beans.

Looks a lot like my Chickasaw except for the blue in some of the beans. Maybe someone got a hold of Chickasaw and it got crossed with some bean.

I agree with @Decoy1 about the sun VS the shade photos. Maybe it's also the time of year with the sun's light angle being so much lower. The sunlight photos have too much shadowing wiping too much of the seeds detail. I like your shade photos better.

This looks like a yellow eye variety. It seems every yellow eye I have grown are not as productive although I like them because of their history. I can imagine New Englanders and Nova Scotians harvesting significant quantities of yellow eyes simply because of the large tracts of ground devoted...

@heirloomgal , Your bean photos of your post #1044 are just gorgeous. This is the quality of seed I would always like to send out to Network growers. That's one of the ways the Network functions best. When growers return that quality of seed then I can send that kind of seed out to growers...

I think it's some kind of stress. Heat, maybe not quite not enough water. Low mineral content of the soil that has to do with seed formation. It could even be that the variety itself is more sensitive to certain stresses. There were other beans in this same plot that produced abundant seed crops...
