As far as how I water I do both. I always water leaves and all I think it is good for them. If it has been a few days or really hot out I stick the hose at the base too and let it soak in. Hope that helps.

I always water at night about an hour before the sun goes down.

I didn't think it would hurt we tried it today with our "duck tea" that is what we call the water in the baby pool the ducks swim in. The water from the pig in a very very dark green and very smelly too so maybe not that weak......LOL

Well I will look up the average frost date for my area we are ZONE 6 we live in central KY. I am so excited to do this I love working in the garden and eating out of it as well. I would love to do peas and beans plus some extras for our pigs and chickens. Thanks for the help.

Does anyone know of anything that can get rid of johnson grass but not harm my plants? This year johnson grass is the only weed in my garden. I weed the garden just about everyday but when you go out the next morning you can't even tell you have weeded. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
