  2. Lady Bug

    Unknown ground cover

I know what you mean. I saw a photo of that and it does look a lot like it, however the plant I have does not turn red nor does it have berries.
  3. Lady Bug

    Unknown ground cover

I would like to say that I really do like the plant. It does not grow fast. It is very low growing, no more than 2 inches tall. You can walk on it. Very few weeds will grow through it, and it will grow under evergreen trees. It grows well in sun and in shade. I'm transplanting it to other...

Here is another photo of VERONICA SURCULOSA, which looks very much like what I have.

Here is some more info. I won't really know until next spring when it flowers again. https://ncwildflower.org/plant_galleries/details/veronica-officinalis
  7. Lady Bug

    Unknown ground cover

That looks like the plant. I've been scouring the web to try and find and id for this . . . I think I might have found it. Here is a photo of Veronica officinalis, which does look similar. My unknown plant looks more like Veronica than Creeping Jenny.
  8. Lady Bug

    Unknown ground cover

It is not the same as Creeping Jenny. If you look at the close up, you'll see that its leaves are oval, not round. While this plant may be in the same family due to its similar growth pattern, it is a different plant. I have Creeping Jenny, and this is not that.
  9. Lady Bug

    Unknown ground cover

In the second group I posted 2 images of Creeping Jenny for comparison. The first one in that group, titled unknown ground cover, is the plant I'd like to ID.
  10. Lady Bug

    Unknown ground cover

I have not seen any berries. But I really haven't looked . . . you would think it might since it does have tiny flowers. I'll have to keep an eye on that.
  11. Lady Bug

    Unknown ground cover

It does have a tiny flower, I think it was blue. I have creeping Jenny, but it is not the same plant. It does seem to grow like Creeping Jenny, but the leaves are larger. Creeping Jenny is a chartreuse color, more lime green than dark green The mature leaves on this plant are much darker. In...

    Hello from North Carolina!

Do you know where I can find that discussion?
  14. Lady Bug

    Unknown ground cover

I have a very lovely ground cover that I cannot find any info on. Its growth is very much like Dichondra, except the leaves are oval and slightly serrated. It stays evergreen here in NC. It is a slow spreader. Its great as a ground cover as it spreads but doesn't grow more that about 2...

    hurricane florence....

Thought I'd share a couple of photos of what Florence did to Interstate 40 in NC . . . one is not a river, but I40 completely underwater, the other is what was left behind after the water receded.

    Hello from North Carolina!

Hello to everyone! I haven't been here since October of last year . . . I'm not sure, but it was probably because of a zinnia forum. A new search led me back to the forum that answered by question. The question was if pulling up zinnias before frost and hanging them in a shed be a viable way...

    Hello from North Carolina!

Was so happy to find your forum. Especially like the plant id thread . . . I'll be there a lot! I'm into planting perennial herbs for health and magical folklore uses.
