I love this time of year! We just keep getting more and more beautiful flowers every week! May is the best month to see the lovely flowers here in the PNW at their peak!
Yesterday I foraged a bunch of stinging nettle for tea and also some glorious dandelion greens! Yummy! I put the salad alongside some grilled lamb loin chops.
I made a new clam shell pillow for our sailboat last weekend. I used an old, worn out fleece blanket as batting. To make it more full looking I took apart a worn out pillow and used the old stuffing for my new pillow filling!
We have a pet seagull that we feed regularly. He has had a mangled foot ever since we first met him, but that doesn't stop him from being a fierce fighter and an excellent hunter. Anyway, we saw him dive for food yesterday and he came up with a purple starfish in his mouth! He swallowed it...
Last fall I bought these mums and then everything on the plant turned brown when the frost came. Now in the stead of the "dead" plant, this fresh start appeared! I love volunteers!
My orchids add such a nice touch to the window sill. They have been so healthy for the last couple years. My daughter has a couple also and hers just keep on blooming too!
