Fortunately, I was a little older than the intended audience when that book came out. I don't know why I missed Horton, Whoever. Maybe Mom was afraid he'd be eaten in the story.

Horton Hatches an Egg! That was the longest one I had memorized. Children and grands grew up with me reading the good Doctor's books. Never went to bed without at least one book read to them.
