last night some friends and I where shooting fireworks over pond. A neighbor shouted out to us he was calling cops if we didn't stop. It was a Saturday night a little before 11. No one on my street has small kids. My feeling are 28 days a month I am not there so house quite as a cemetery, 2 nights a month a little noise should be over looked.

Ok?????? What would police say?

Simliar situation on our country road except.........one neighbors 2 grown kids decide that road in front of our house has a straight paved road that is ideal for drag racing with cycles, 4wheelers. That have NO mufflers (actually have glass pacs). Starts sometime after 10 PM. Goes till I called the cops-1-2 PM. Did I mention alcohol involved? Next time I saw them (sober), explained enjoy themselves till 12. Then shut it down......No problems since. Some of us have Church or other things to go to.

Fireworks, on 4th I'd come over to watch, enjoy. April, I'd give you till midnight. :old:plbb

Good thing you are NOT my neighbor! Love you, but those things are dangerous. And the dog goes BONKERS. He thinks it is gun fire and wants to go see..... Any night of the week I go to be at 10:00. Most mornings up at 5:00 a.m. I want it quite. (And what some people consider little noise can be a LOT of noise to the next.) Sorry.

I live by creek with high banks on the other side. 3 miles from town. If someone belches there, if travels the creek acting like an amplifier. Your neighbors may have a similiar effect.

Out here in the sticks would have been fine at that time. After 12 forget it, I'd hunt you down. :D
Not all neighbors are willing to cut you some slack for your usual quietness. We have a mix of both, but generally we don't set our hair on fire for the occasional belch.

We did just have a two day marathon skeet shooting weekend courtesy of our rental neighbors teenaged son and friend. Alllllllllllllllll day, both days. We were patient the first day but the second was over the top (though completely legal) and in the afternoon I finally called the sherriff.

Living in the city people are pretty good about being quiet after 10pm. Heck, we can't even run construction tools after 7pm. But I would have yelled at you like your neighbor though at 10 not 11pm. ;)

Maybe your neighbor had to go to work the next day. I used to work weekends and the neighborhood I lived in had a lot of weekenders. The weekenders partied all night, drove up and down the streets on 4 wheelers and woke me up. If you shoot fireworks, keep it around 10, that is a reasonable time for noise making.

Here in the PNW the garbage trucks can't even drive down the road before 7:30 AM. I guess that the after midnight firework and gun revelors that celebrate ALL MAJOR NATIONAL HOLLIDAYS :frow :celebrate :weee seriously rival those put on by some Cities need their beauty sleep.

I don't have a problem with 11PM or even midnight if it really is that rural. I have a yearly gig in October where we have an outside/inside party that goes until everybody is done, maybe 2AM sometimes. However we are noisiest when it starts, 1PM on an October Saturday afternoon. We do NOT play any music--maybe we'll show "Nosferatu" this year against the barn--just our conversation. Nobody has complained yet, though we do invite our next door neighbors to the party, and I don't think they'd call the cops on us.
Next time, plan ahead, invite the neighbors and let THEM pick the right time to shoot off the fireworks.
