Just set 7 Blue Andalusian eggs under one of my Black Copper Marans and 7 Blue/Black Orpington eggs under the other. I bought them from a local 4H girl. Spoiled hens have the whole meat bird coop to themselves. Both of them ripped out all of their breast feathers to fluff up their nests a bit. I have never had a broody before so this will be an exciting adventure. Even if I don't get a single chick out of the whole ordeal, at least I learned something!

How fun! I had a hen go broody and a friend gave me some fertile eggs. She hatched 5 out of 7. It was fun watching momma hen and her biddies out in the yard. I put her in a separate coop and only let them out when the big girls were in their coop and not running around the yard. You will enjoy watching your hen and her babies soooo much!!
