A gift from Ava

Those socks are beautiful, Jack. How lucky for Ava that you will wear them. How lucky for you that winter is on the near horizon and you'll not be wearing shorts anytime soon. Perhaps by spring, those heavily used socks will have garnered a hole or two?

You don't know the half of it, she has given me star wars pajamas, pajamas with a kid with a BB saying you are going to shoot your eye out with that BB gun, pajamas with silly cartoon characters, a long back scratcher shaped like a shark, and on and on.

Yes, it is obvious that she loves her grandpa, but I suspect there is an adult sense of humor assisting in those purchases.

I would turn the tables and wear some of these embarrassing clothes/socks and take Ava shopping! Or maybe to a place where she would see her friends where she could be the one to be embarrassed. I have no shame....... BWA-HA-HA-HA!!!

'Sides, I doubt Ava would be one bit embarrassed to have her friends see her awesome grandpa. She's not old enough to feel the peer pressure of teens who won't even admit to having a family.

However, it just might give the rest of the family cause to begin plans to have grandpa "put away" for his own safety.

Baymule, just because you and I wouldn't be dissuaded from dressing like that, doesn't mean others would feel the same.

But I don't think you should roll up your pants when you wear them.

You should wear them with your Bermuda shorts instead.

I thought of that also Red, but Ava is really excited when she gives me one of her finds. Her mother just rolls her eyes and shakes her head, so if it is an act it is a good one.
