That was certainly quick! I can't believe you will actually get beans to develop....but I sure hope you do!! Keep us posted as you progress and a detailed report of how they taste!
Ok here is an update. 3 of the pods with beans went moldy. I believe its because they are from 2007 and the elements got to them. So far they are sprouting well and one of them is already getting true leaves.
Here is a pic of the root system going into the water
I have changed the name of the title since it is a garden blog or "GLOG"/ Aerogarden review. Now there is someone on this board who had pump troubles do to the sediments of the Aerogarden tables/nutrients. I found a easy way to save your pump and get rid of those tablets. Its called Ultragrow. Its a liquid nutrient that works better then those Aerogarden tablets. I just got it in the mail so I will add that into my review and see how well it works Anyway here are some new pics of the garden plus the bottles I am using of Ultragrow.
Steve, I don't think old seed is your problem. When growing things indoors, you will have problems with dampening off, fungus gnats and other mold related issues if you do not have some kind of fan. It took me quite a while to work out the lights for indoor growing. Once I got that mastered I was having the same problem you did...seeds going moldy and dying off. Then someone told me about the fan. Now I can rock the indoor growing.
I don't use an aerogarden, but I will be bringing herbs and peppers inside over the next few weeks for indoor gardening over the winter.
Thank you for the info. I always had dampening off problems and always wondered what I was doing wrong. I have a really old (pre 1970's) fan. Its on high and giving the plants a lot of wind so the branches can be nice and thick. I just got another aerogarden (6 pod spacesaver) for $25 off craigslist and I may do marigolds in it.
