Today I transplanted my African daisy to this nice roomy mini wine barrel. I dug it out of a much smaller ceramic pot that it has been growing in all year. This flower has been incredible with hundreds of blooms and it is so robust! Anyway, it took an hour to dig it out of its old pot. You should have seen how many roots were in the bottom of the pot! I took a pic, but it was dark outside and I forgot to turn on my flash. Check it out!

Anyone else love growing African daisies!?

Gerbera.

Right? It is an African perennial. I have grown Gazania :). (Not the one you have there, I'm thinking.)

In the rose greenhouse where I worked, the management wanted to try Gerbera under rose bushes ..! It was soon abandoned. Beautiful potted plants from the nurseries, And In Bouquets. Do you have it outdoors all year?

Yes! It is outdoors all year and we took it sailing all summer! It has been a favorite plant of mine due to its hundreds of blooms and it's hardiness!

It is important to realize that when Dahlia says, hardiness ..

. she means conditions other than freezing cold.
